CONFIRMED App Exclusive: The adidas NMD S1 is Finally Releasing
After what has felt like an endless tease that started with a , followed by numerous spotted on Instagram, the S1 is finally ready to release. However, copping a pair won’t be as simple as opening the Three Stripes’ website in a few hours time.
The NMD S1 is the successor to the original NMD that dropped back in 2015, subsequently changing the sneaker zeitgeist forever alongside popular models like the . As previously seen, the S1 edition builds on this spongy-soled foundation and pairs it to the now ubiquitous sock-fit upper. While some familiar aspects have been reprised, adidas ensure that this new design keeps with the futuristic aesthetic models like the NMD have always represented.
One of the most prominent updates includes the BOOST compound now encapsulated in a milky rubber platform sole. This not only enables the Trefoil to return as an outsole pattern, but it protects the cushioning inside. No longer will online sneaker chatter ask, ‘How do I clean my BOOST soles?’ – a common query during the #BOOSTvibes era. Furthermore, the white Primeknit upper is now fine-tuned to support different areas of the foot, and the lacing system is integrated more cleanly.
