Leaked: Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 Collaboration
A prominent sneaker leaker has revealed the first images of a new collaboration from Concepts and the Nike Air Max 1. The Boston-turned-global boutique has worked with the Swoosh for over a decade now, releasing increasingly more flamboyant limited editions. And this new AM1 continues that trend with its psychedelic pastiche of patterns including paisley, camouflage and flowers as just three of the graphics. Not to mention the multiple materials used.
As shown by @kangofmemphis, this yet to be announced AM1 is a wild medley. The uppers are a combination of washed denim twill on the toe box and mid panel, purple paisley bandana canvas on the mudguard, the same but in light green on the heel counter, and spotty cow hair on the forefoot strip. Nope, that’s not all: the tongues are red velvet; the top eyelet panel is yellow corduroy, which meets red cord lining; and the ankle collars have a bright jacquard with ‘CNCPTS’ woven right into the pattern. Plus, the lateral and medial Swooshes have striped embroidery and stitched flowers respectively. Phew! Despite all of this craziness going on, the pair is actually symmetrical!
Some additional touches include guitar pick accessories, extra laces (including a velvet option) and a very decorated custom shoebox. It’s these elements that perhaps offer a clue as to what this AM1’s inspiration might be. This could be straight 1960s psychedelia. Let’s see what the official story is from Concepts when they make their eventual announcement.
