The highly-anticipated release of the  Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ is still a few months away, but some closer looks have emerged on IG to keep the enthusiasm levels striking hot. News of the return of the ‘Lightning’ has been bouncing around since  last year, and  official pics circulated earlier this month of the electric look. Featuring a vibrant yellow hue across the upper, contrast arrives via expert touches of grey, white and black. Elsewhere, you’ll spot all the usual AJ4 goodies, including the iconic mesh netting on the midfoot and forefoot, plus premium nubuck uppers.

First hitting the hardwood in 1989, the AJ4 saw  Tinker  Hatfield expand on the design language he’d used on  Michael  Jordan’s previous signature silhouettes. While details like bold sculpted tooling, visible Air cushioning, and that unmistakable Jumpman remained, the AJ4 added breathable mesh netting on the upper and tongue, as well as ‘wings’ and moulded additions to the eyestay to allow for multiple lacing options.

The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning’ is scheduled to land at Nike and selected Jordan Brand stockists such as GOAT on August 7.
