Check Out Three Unreleased Fragment x Air Jordan 1 Samples
Fragment's Hiroshi Fujiwara knows his way around a covetable Nike or Jordan Brand collaboration, and most sneaker lovers would tell you that legendary sneaker creation is the original Fragment x Air Jordan 1, released at the tail end of 2014. Of course, any sneaker goes through several rounds of ideation and sampling before it hits the market – and now we have a look at the process behind Fujiwara's product, thanks to the reveal of three Fragment x Air Jordan 1 samples.
What's most striking about this trifecta of unreleased designs is just how different they are from the finished product. Fragment's take on the Air Jordan 1 was essentially an Air Jordan 1 'Black Toe' with its red accents swapped out for signature Fragment blue and a familiar lightning bolt stamped on the heel. These three samples, however, each veer in a vastly different direction.
The most striking of the bunch features a full red suede upper finished with a black tongue and laces. There's also a colourway that's essentially a full suede take on the Air Jordan 1 'Royal,' and another with a monochromatic black tumbled leather upper and white midsole, a Fragment version of the Air Jordan 1 'Cyber Monday.'
None of these three styles will ever see the light of day, but they will join the ranks of Fragment's treasure trove of unreleased samples, like a grey Air Jordan 3 and a boldly-branded Fragment x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1.
