Check Out This ASMR Unboxing of the MSCHF x Lil Nas X ‘Satan Shoes’
Nike and Brooklyn-based label MSCHF may have agreed to settle the lawsuit over Lil Nas X’s blood-filled ‘Satan Shoes’, but the controversial sneaker continues to intrigue. Delivering one of the more unique looks at the shoe we’ve seen yet, Soothing Kicks have curated a mesmerising ASMR unboxing to calm your senses.
Limited to just 666 pairs, the ‘Satan Shoes’ feature a drop of blood (donated by the team at MSCHF) mixed with ink that fills an air bubble in the Air Max 97. With a price tag of $1018, the sneakers are affixed with a pentagram-shaped charm and emblazoned with Luke 10:18 – a biblical passage that reads: ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven’.
Unexpectedly, Nike quickly denied any involvement in the Air Max 97 soon after it was announced.
After a brief legal battle, both parties confirmed an agreement of a settlement, with MSCHF offering a voluntary recall to buy back pairs of the Air Max 97–style ‘Satan Shoes’ for their retail price in order to try to reduce the number in circulation. Interestingly, customers who purchased MSCHF’s ‘Jesus Shoes’ from 2019 were also extended the same offer.
