Prophets are often mocked in their own lifetime, and so it might be with the the Odd Future Golf Wang fashion line. The label, which we presume is curated to match Tyler, The Creator's zany tastes, has consistently churned out retina burning pieces that look like they have been mined from some of the nastiest op shops on Earth. Ill fitting bowling shirts and collared jumpers with offensively vibrant colour blocking, passé lolcat motifs and striped shirts you'd expect to see on your eight-year-old nephew are just some of the highlights (lowlights?) of the new collection. Maybe we've lost complete touch with what the yoof are flexing in nowadays, but this seems a few steps too many beyond the 'pushing good taste zone', and for that we must congratulate the Golf Wang team – for real. This kinda stuff is so out of trend right now with the rest of streetwear (even the more colourful offerings from other du jour brands don't have nothin' on the primary colours and unflattering look of this collection) that we have to commend them on being adventurous. You could be forgiven for thinking it's a middle finger up to fashion or perhaps a practical joke to test just how low-brow hypebeasts can go, but more likely it's just a representation of what this gang of friends likes to wear. And for the current time and place, it's original. We don't get it, but kudos for doing your thing. Pics via .
