Bobbito Garcia's New Film Celebrates Basketball, Sneakers and Music
Bobbito Garcia, author of sneaker classics like Out of the Box and Where’d You Get Those, and documentary-maker is working on his third film. Rock Rubber 45s (NYC slang for basketball, sneakers and 45 LPs) is a documentary celebrating pillars of NYC culture in which Bobbito has been heavily involved in for years.
The film isn’t finished, though. There are some odds and ends that can only be fixed up with deep pockets — something not exactly associated with documentaries — so Bobbito has sent out a call to arms. He’s launched a Kickstarter with a goal of raising $30,000 USD. He’s almost halfway there and is looking for pledges starting at just $5. Donations all come with a thank you gift ranging from special thanks to merch to collections of all the dope things Bobbito has been involved in.
