After a five-pack of see-through Superstar colabs with adidas, skateboarder, designer and artist Blondey has moved on to another classic trainer: the Gazelle. The London native recently took to his Instagram to reveal the new colab and – never a man of few words – break its inspirations down in great detail.
Blondey stated that the shoe was officially dubbed the Gazelle A.B. and that the colourway revealed was 'Slate/Gum', an indication that this pair may be the first of many. He also noted that it pulls its inspiration from four different adidas sneakers, describing it as a 'bastard child born of a cantankerous four-way between a Gazelle Indoor, an Indoor Super, a Wensley, and, naturally, a Blondey Superstar'.
To put it in more direct terms, his latest sneaker combines an indoor football sneaker-inspired design that's built from a modern TPU material, sits above a textured gum sole, replaces standard midfoot branding with his name and is equipped with high-gloss accents for a touch of elevated flair. Just like his Superstars, this alternate material is extremely durable – so even though it looks good, it's more than ready to take a thrashing during an intense street skating session!
A release date for the Blondey x adidas Gazelle A.B. has yet to be announced. However, it's likely to surface in the coming days – so keep it locked here for more info as it's made available.
