The have announced their latest initiative for 2023. For the uninitiated, the Black Footwear Forum is a collective working towards creating a more inclusive footwear industry by developing and advancing Black talent at all levels. In doing so, they’re also safeguarding and celebrating the influence, leadership and creativity the Black community brings to footwear. To make this long-term goal a reality, they host regular events, panels and networking sessions connecting industry professionals and allies. Now the Black Footwear Forum are set to host their very first edition of the Footwear Creators Scholarship in partnership with the FDRA and Arsutoria School.
So if you or someone you know are a US resident above the age of 21 and have a keen interest in developing footwear, materials, soles, and machinery, it’s your time to shine! To apply, you’ll simply need to fill out the online application form. The program will run over the course of a week and will include workshops on pattern making and sample making, and will be situated at the Pensole Lewis College of Business & Design.
