3D printing is all the rage in the sneaker industry right now. At Paris Fashion Week AW23, several brands lined up to fire up the printers, including Dior and Reebok.

We now have a behind-the-scenes look at the certifiably wild BOTTER x Reebok Venus Comb Murex Shell Sneaker, the silhouette inspired by the seashell used by the Greek goddess Venus.

It’s undoubtedly one of the most impressive 3D shoes we’ve seen so far, featuring a design inspired by vintage Reebok football silhouettes. Made in collaboration with HP’s 3D printing team in Barcelona, the mould was created using HP’s MultiJet Fusion.

Once printed, the grey silhouettes were hand-painted to compliment the Caribbean Sea tones featured throughout BOTTER’s impressive AW23 collection.

The colab is reportedly vastly more energy efficient than traditional methods of sneaker manufacturing. The 3D printing process revolves around having no waste by utilising TPU – a material nimble enough to make products post-sale that can solve excessive production.
