Basketcase Gallery and have linked once again – and this time they’re taking over Paris. Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, the third chapter in their partnership comes in the form of the New Balance 204L, a Friends & Family exclusive that’s dripping in texture and tonal swag.

The 204L silhouette taps into the slim, indoor soccer-inspired aesthetic that’s become a linchpin for today’s fashion-forward crowd. This version keeps it cool with a layered grey build, mixing rich pony hair underlays with light grey nubuck and leather lining. Down below, the EVA foam midsole and low-profile outsole wrap up the minimalist build, again proving less really can be more.

For the uninitiated, Basketcase Gallery are a Southern California label founded by Zach Kinninger, whose creative journey began with tattoo stencils in his college dorm. Since 2018, Basketcase have evolved into underground tastemakers, known for their goth-tinged apparel, artist colabs, and refusal to play it conservatively. Their fusion of streetwear and fine art gives each release a sharper edge – so it’s no wonder NB tapped in.

While this grey colourway is reserved for Friends & Fam, Basketcase have confirmed another 204L will get a wider release later this year. For now, the colab is holding court in Basketcase’s Le Marais showroom, where it’s become an early standout during Fashion Week’s sneaker surge.
