Barcelona Welcomes New solebox Mercat Store
Boutique retailer are continuing their European expansion with the latest opening of a new store location in Barcelona. Named solebox Mercat, this brick-and-mortar location is playfully modelled on the Spanish city’s famous market stalls and quality produce. And that’s exactly what this store is selling: the hottest sneakers, apparel and accessories from the best brands.
There’s fantastic attention to detail in solebox Merkat with its reference to Barcelona’s markets. The sneakers sit atop wooden stands, surrounded by custom solebox-branded crates and boxes. A fridge section displays not hanging meat, but t-shirts and socks. Even the olive oil bottles and tinned tomato décor is labelled solebox!
The solebox empire began back in 2002, when brothers Hikmet and Suekret Sugoer opened their first store in Berlin and quickly established themselves as an influential boutique. After growing their presence and , solebox joined the Snipes retail conglomerate in 2013, and have since grown to now six locations across Europe.
This past weekend, regular collaborative partners teamed up with solebox to host a Friends and Family dinner this past weekend to launch the Merkat store, which also dropped the retailer’s .
The new solebox Merkat store in Barcelona is officially open for business! Just don’t expect to find any fruit or vegetables.
