The Japanese designer AURALEE is back with frequent collaborators New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio for another apparel collection. The pair released their first collection in March this year, and this release comes fresh off the back of the collaborative 1906R. Like the previous collection, this one takes pieces from the NB archive and gives them a modern makeover. To launch the collaboration, AURALEE have posted a campaign on Instagram telling the story behind the NB Archive Remastered collection.

Volume 1 of the campaign tells the story of the project’s birth, including its purpose to ‘give something back to this special community’, while volume 2 and 3 celebrate the people behind the creation. Richie Roxas is a star of the campaign, as he is an avid New Balance collector who has been noticed around the world. Joining him is AURALEE’s designer Ryota Iwai. The narration of the video says Roxas and Iwai can ‘see the future in the past’, which is why the collection takes what New Balance has already created and brings it to today.

The collection includes a fleece pants and quarterzip set, nylon pants and half zip set, and a long-sleeved t-shirt. The colab is exclusive to Japan and will drop in-store and online at AURALEE and New Balance, as well as the select retailers listed below. There’s no release date announced yet, but it does say ‘coming soon’, so stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more details.
