A pair of game-worn and signed post-injury Air Jordan 1s from the early days of Michael Jordan’s career are up for auction!

After MJ injured his foot early in the 1985-86 season, to help with his recovery – and give him extra support during games – Nike tinkered under the hood of this AJ1 ‘Chicago’ and added a built-in support strap. This very rare piece of history was never released to the public, and with only a few ever made this pair is expected to sell for upwards of $300,000.

The pair up for auction was reportedly worn by the GOAT when his Chicago Bulls played against the New York Knicks on March 29, 1986. Having dropped 24 points in 23 minutes, MJ is believed to have gifted the pair of AJ1s to the consigner’s father. This is the first time they’ve been put up for sale in the 34 years since.

Signed by Jordan on the lateral collar of each shoe in the pair, these are going up for auction on Gotta Have Rock and Roll’s website on July 22. They have a minimum bid of $100,000, and an estimated sale price of $300,000-$500,000. Are you going to place a bid?
