ASICS’ Stepnote Ensures Kids Wear the Correct Shoe Size

ASICS have announced a new digital service that provides tools and guidance for parents to pick the correct shoe size for the rapidly growing feet of their children. Known as ASICS Stepnote, the web-based program is focused on measurements and data gathered over the past 20 years by the ASICS Institute of Sport Science.

The service has practical features such as a foot-measuring guide, augmented tools to do so, plus charts to map out foot growth and even project future sizing. As such, ASICS also will recommend particular shoes from their collection and the best size to buy based on input data.

To make Stepnote more engaging with children, it also includes an interactive ‘Ashi Art’ component that uses the silhouette of the measured foot to create shareable graphics. Also, continued use rewards the child with collectable in-app site stamps, which adds a gamification incentive.

ASICS Stepnote is available now to members of the OneASICS loyalty program via this website. However, all of the text is in Japanese, so non-fluent customers may need Google Translate handy.

Had this rather handy service existed decades ago, one l ong-suffering Sneaker Freaker writer would have been wearing the right shoe size from the get go…
