We were right when we said ASICS was set for a megalithic 2022 because the past few months have held a swathe of top-tier inline and collaborative drops. A mainstay in the ASICS camp, Kiko Kostadinov and his team are still on contract with the brand, consulting on colour palettes and silhouettes, however these are not officially co-branded collaborations. This year alone the team has blessed us with the HN2-S PROTOBLAST, HS3-S GEL-NANDI and brand new UB3-S GEL Nimbus 9! Their latest venture is trail ready, has been given the moniker HS4-S GEL-Sonoma 15-50 GTX and revealed by Instagram account @hikingpatrol.

This pair pulls from the inline GEL-Sonoma, utilising its aggressive sole unit that’s been used across every iteration of the model over the years. A running shoe that specialises in outdoor and rugged terrain, the Kiko team have used that to inspire their colourways. The heavy hitter of the trio is earthy toned, the second chooses all-over teal while a third opts for bright blue and grey.

For this release, ASICS have also allowed their partners to modify their Tiger Stripe logo, now with two plastic panels making up the vertical lines. Many of the GEL-Sonoma versions including the 2 and 6 have boasted a GORE-TEX membrane and so does the updated 15-50, in line with the trail inspiration. While not officially co-branded, you can tell that the Kiko team had a hand in these due to the asymmetrical tongue pull-tabs, which adds somewhat of a signature.

So far, nothing official has been said about the ASICS HS4-S GEL-Sonoma 15-50 GTX. However if history is any indicator then keep an eye on your local stockist, these will be touching down soon. We also found an early pair that was sold on GRAILED not too long ago, for a mere $61!
