ASICS and the Kiko Kostadinov Team Announce an Ongoing Partnership
The Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS collaborations did very well, catering to both sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts. The duo enjoyed a hot run, dropping multiple silhouettes for both men and women. While the recent GEL-Kiril 2 team-up was suggested to be their last, it looks like the partnership isn’t done yet – albeit under slightly different arrangements. ASICS and the Kiko team will be working alongside each other to help with the creation of new styles with different materials and new colour palettes, but the models won’t be co-branded.
Kicking off the second coming, ASICS have just debuted the UB1-S GEL-Kayano 14. Two colourways have surfaced, one being a muted black, grey and green, while the other wears vibrant pink, orange and white. Both have been blessed with a mesh and leather combo, and a large pull-tab on the tongue.
Kostadinov recently used Instagram to explain the ongoing partnership, and to clarify a few specifics. He confirmed the shoes will not be co-branded, as it’s not a new line, but his team will be working very closely with ASICS to curate 10 styles per season. We’re already excited to see what’s next!
The UB1-S GEL-Kayano 14 will arrive at stores this year. No exact release date has surfaced, but we’ll keep you updated.
