Artist Recreates Reebok Shaq Attaq, Donating Profits to The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation
Artist Adam Port has teamed up with to sell limited edition prints of the iconic , with all net profits going towards the basketball player’s eponymous charity initiative, The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation.
NY-based Port specialises in photorealistic paintings, with subjects ranging from famous athletes to classic sneakers, the latter of which he explores in his growing ‘Art of the Sole’ collection. The artist sourced a pair of 2017 Reebok Shaq Attaq retros, and photographed them for reference, before painstakingly repainting them on an art board, which was then reproduced as prints.
For the art collecting fans, the prints are sized at 25” by 33”. This fine artwork is printed using an Epson SureColor P9570 onto archival quality, smooth rag 315gsm cotton fiber.
Only 32 prints will be available – referencing the jersey number Shaq wore playing for the Orlando Magic. Each print is individually numbered and signed by both Port and Shaq, and includes a certificate of authenticity. The prints are priced at $899 each, and all net profits will be donated to The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation. This initiative helps disadvantaged youth find helpful pathways into school, sport and equal opportunities.
