Anderson .Paak Stars in Vans' New 'Classic Since Forever' Campaign
Besides being an 8-time Grammy Award winner and 11-time nominee, having the 'best teef in the game,' and serving as one half of Silk Sonic, singer, multi-instrumentalist, rapper and producer Anderson .Paak has been making waves in the world of footwear. He's Vans' global music ambassador, has collaborated with the brand on the well-received 'Vanderson' collection and is now serving as the face of a brand-new campaign dubbed 'Classic Since Forever'. Though .Paak has put his own unique spin on everything from soul to funk and hip-hop, he still has a deep appreciation for the classics – as evidenced by Silk Sonic's period-correct 1970s soul sound – making him an ideal choice to spotlight the most iconic silhouettes from Vans' Classics line.
Dressed in full Silk Sonic regalia (including his famous mushroom wig), .Paak can be seen sporting a five-pack of legendary Vans kicks: the Old Skool, Sk8 Hi, Era, Slip-On and Authentic. The partnership with Vans is a full-circle moment – when .Paak was an ambitious 21-year-old who left his home of Oxnard, CA to attend music school in Hollywood, he worked part-time at a Vans retail store to make ends meet. In his own admission, he struggled to show up to work on time, but now he's fronting a campaign for his former employer!
