Update July 28, 2023: A select few in the sneakersphere have been gifted earlier pairs of the Aminé x New Balance 610 ‘The Mooz’ colab. Among them is @aplasticplant. Check out the new shots above and stay locked for more information.

Update June 6, 2023: Aminé has unveiled his collaboration with New Balance on the NB610, which has been dubbed ‘The Mooz’ colourway. Yellow and brown mesh meets patent leather overlays throughout in brown, giving off banana vibes. The rugged sneaker also features a snow globe-like 610 badge on the heel with a floating banana. Iridescent panelling is placed throughout, with Aminé and New Balance co-branding on the tongue. The Portland rapper has stated the collaborative sneaker is slated for a Summer 2023 release, so keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker as we await details on the drop date.

Update May 31, 2023: After it was announced just over a year ago that Aminé would be signing on with New Balance, an official teaser has arrived via an editorial video. News on what the product will be is still unconfirmed, but what the artist has on foot – appearing to be a yellow pair of the NB610 – might be a little taste of what's to come.

Portland-bred, Los Angeles-based rapper, singer and songwriter Aminé has become an official member of the New Balance family. Revealing the partnership in a joint Instagram post with the @newbalancelifestyle account, Aminé will join Jack Harlow on the brand's ever-expanding roster of artists and entertainers.

The partnership between Aminé and New Balance comes as no surprise due to Aminé's friendship with Salehe Bembury. Bembury, who's created the 2002R 'Peace Be the Journey,' the 2002R 'Water Be the Guide' and the 574 'Yurt' collections with the Boston-based brand since 2020, often laces Aminé with his New Balance, Crocs and ANTA collabs – sometimes even unreleased versions – and the rapper's large following, run of hit singles and quirky personality fit in perfectly among the New Balance roster.

In the announcement photo, he's also seen rocking an unreleased orange pair of the 2002R 'Protection Pack.' At the time of writing, there's no word on signature Aminé x New Balance products. However, more details on exactly what the duo's partnership will entail is likely to surface soon. (We hope there's an Aminé Leon Dore colab!) Besides Aminé, New Balance also recently beefed up their hoops squad with the addition of two-time NBA All-Star Zach LaVine, who joined a stacked crew led by other hoopers like Kawhi Leonard and Jamal Murray.
