Update December 3, 2023: We have a release date confirmed and official photos up! The 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 Low will release on the ALYX online store on December 7, as per an Instagram post from ALYX. It will then be followed by a wider release on December 15, 2023 at select Nike Sportswear retail outlets and Nike.com. Retail is marked at $155. In the meantime, check out the full looks.

Update November 27, 2023: After taking to Instagram to share blueprints of the sneaker, Matthew Williams has shared a first proper look at his Air Force 1 colourways over on Instagram. As expected, the pairs feature minimal detailing, solely opting for an ALYX wordmark at the lateral heels and custom hardware by the laces. Any release info is still TBC, but Williams assures us that the colab is dropping soon.

Matthew Williams may have just sold a majority stake in ALYX, but that doesn’t mean he’s turning his attention away from the brand anytime soon. The brand founder and Givenchy creative director is looking to continue ALYX’s Nike partnership with an Air Force 1 Low, which he’s revealed plans for over on Instagram.

It’d be fair to say that a lot of the designer’s previous Nike projects have ventured into being avant-garde (take the MMW x Nike Zoom 4, for example), but this particular release is a lot more understated. Even ALYX’s previous AF1 High colabs featured bold design elements, such as the brand’s signature rollercoaster buckle fastening, but the blueprints behind this pair suggest nothing of the sort. Instead, the plans appear to follow the same minimalist AF1 trend we’ve seen from the likes of Fragment Design and Supreme, opting solely for subtle branding at the lateral heels, tongues, insoles and dubrae. The panelling is different to the in-line AF1 Low though, so Williams may still be getting experimental with the materials.

As it stands, there’s no word yet on when the ALYX x Nike Air Force 1 will release, but Williams’s post did hint that it would be dropping soon. In the meantime, stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for more news on this release and many more.
