The Air Jordan 9 is a notable model in Jordan Brand lore because it was the line’s first to release following MJ’s first retirement. Three decades later, its significance is far from diminished, as it remains a popular model in the brand’s retro lineup. Now, it’s returning in OGish ‘Light Olive’.

At a glance, this pair looks just like the ‘Olive’ OG, which is largely true. The black leather vamp and namesake ‘Light Olive’ nubuck mudguard channel the catalogue editions, but the ‘Concord’ purple hits on the midsole Jumpman, tongue and heel logos give away the new changes. A lighter shade of blue on the rear accents even suggests a very tenuous Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets tie-in.

The use of ‘Concord’ isn’t too far removed from Jordan history, as the shade soon went on to appear on the Air Jordan 11, one of the most popular models in the JB lineup, if not ever. Expect the Air Jordan 7 ‘Light Olive’ to arrive in early 2023 at Nike retailers.
