Update November 2, 2022: Trophy Room have officially announced the release date for their upcoming Air Jordan 7 collaboration! The ‘New Sheriff in Town’ is scheduled to drop on November 3, and you can enter the raffle now.
have an upcoming collaboration featuring multiple nods to one of its most famous outings, the Barcelona Summer Games in 1992. While many young sneakerheads today were likely too little to remember this era (or possibly not even alive when it happened), there are plenty of explanations behind the various references on this pair.
This edition takes Team USA’s white, red and navy colourway used on the original AJ7 ‘Olympic’ and flips the proportions, resulting in a predominately red palette. The midsole and outsole recall the OG version, and the tongue remains navy. There’s a bit more gold strewn throughout the rear on the Trophy Room logo, which meets the heel pull tab woven in the colours of the Olympic rings.
Nods to the Dream Team’s 1992 campaign can be seen on the woven date tag on the ankle, custom basketball court shoebox packaging, the tactic board accessory, and the cryptic messaging of ‘New sheriff in town’. This refers to a quote attributed to during a Dream Team scrimmage game ahead of Barcelona.
