Take a Look at These Alternative Transformers x Air Jordan 5 Samples

Back in 2017, Jordan Brand gifted actor Mark Wahlberg a pair of exclusive Air Jordan 5s in celebration of Transformers: The Last Knight. While widely believed to be a one-of-one, the overnight emergence of a sample pair from a foremost collector and seller has only deepened the mystery.

As shared – and put on the market – by @depeche23mode, these AJ5s vary considerably from Wahlberg’s. This pair features ballistic nylon material on the upper in place of the glossy vinyl seen on the other example. The tongue is also reflective, channelling the feel of the model’s original colourways – a vibe only furthered by the cement-like speckling on the forefoot midsole accent. In fact, this sample almost looks like the ‘Black Metallic’ OG.

A closer eye at details, including the number 84 embroidered on the heel, branded tongue label and vibrant insole graphics depicting the eponymous Transformers, confirm this pair is special. Like the ‘normal’ pair, the sample is also finished with Jumpman and Autobot logos beneath the clear outsoles.

Interested parties will need to cough up $23,125 to purchase – making these one of the most expensive Air Jordan 5s ever. It’s a good thing just looking is free.
