Update January 10: Following the initial information and mockup, here's the first IRL look at the upcoming Air Jordan 5 'Easter' which now features a glow-in-the-dark outsole! Official imagery from the brand hasn't been released as of yet, but we'll keep you updated.
Sneaker brands have taken to releasing thematic product to coincide with various holiday events throughout the years, and the Easter period has seen a consistent annual tradition of limited editions. Jordan Brand look to continue this trend with an Air Jordan 5 potentially releasing for Easter 2022 with a typical pastel finish.
The AJ5 is very much a casual shoe these days, evident by its numerous releases and occasional themes that are removed from its basketball origins. Easter has come to Jordans before with a relative degree of success and, given the 30-plus-year popularity of the 5, this should result in one of the stronger releases. According to this mockup by zsneakerheadz, this colourway may opt for an all-suede upper, save for the idiosyncratic rubber mesh netting on the midfoot and instep, plus the shiny reflective tongue. Pastel pink decorates most of this Easter edition, which is met with duck egg blue, making for a very festive colourway. Additional OG elements include midsole splatter accents, icey outsole segments, and a clear lace toggle with blue hardware.
As this is a mockup over six months ahead of the Easter 2022 holiday, the final product could vary wildly. Stay tuned for early leaks and official reveals over the next few months.
