Lunar New Year may have come and gone on the calendar earlier this year, but that doesn’t mean the party is over. Jordan Brand are expected to release a thematic Air Jordan 36 modelled after the ancient tradition. Despite its heritage inspiration, the final execution is bright and vibrant.

Per these images via @gc911, the AJ36 takes on a very colourful rainbow gradient finish, which sits somewhere between tie-dye and paint fades. Just about every colour is represented here, so stark black lining on the midsole, tongue and pull tabs help anchor the design. This also points towards the modern silhouette of the 36, which maintains its reliable high-top design and large open panels.

As far as the YOTT inspiration goes, there are some tiger head motifs placed in the middle of the tongues, making the theme pretty clear. The shoe box also has some custom tiger graphics watermarked onto the white surface.

While release details aren’t clear, it would make sense for these shoes to drop some time this year. If anything, it’s possible they were supposed to be available back in February in time for LNY, but ongoing logistic and production issues have caused delays. Hopefully this is one of the last products to deal with that.
