Update June 23, 2022: It's looking like the rumours that the Air Jordan 3 'Fire Red' will return with Nike Air Branding are true! Sneaker leaker @chrisG410 has shared the first IRL look at the upcoming release. Also, according to @zsneakerheadz, these should arrive on August 6 in full-family sizing. No official comment has been made by Jordan Brand as of yet but we'll keep you updated. Keep an eye on GOAT and Flight Club to secure your size!

Rumours are doing the rounds on the Internet, claiming that the Air Jordan 3 ‘Fire Red’ is getting retroed in 2022 with its Nike Air branding on the heel tab. If these whispers prove to be true, it will be the first time the OG colourway has returned in historically correct form.

For a long time, sneakerheads have bemoaned the lack of Nike Air branding on retro Jordans, especially Air Jordans 3 to 6 in original colourways. The AJ3’s other catalogue combos – the ‘Black Cement’, ‘White Cement’ and ‘True Blue’ – have all returned with the correct heel logos, but the ‘Fire Red’ is the last to get the proper treatment. Which is a curious fact, considering a number of other non-OG colours received the Swoosh branding on their heel tabs and outsoles.

In any case, mock-ups such as the one above by @zsneakerheadz suggest the wait for a proper AJ3 ‘Fire Red’ retro is almost over, as the reissue is expected to arrive later this year. Whether or not that is indeed true remains to be seen, as Jordan Brand have not said a single word about the existence of this planned release.

Stay tuned to find out if this coveted retro does indeed return.
