Orange, Blue, and Bruised Egos: Meet the Air Jordan 2/3 ‘Knicks’

The vault has coughed up another ‘what if?’ moment with a rare 2/3 hybrid sample dipped in Knicks colours. Originally lined up for Spring 2025, the mashup fuses the slick leather upper of the Low with the chunky midsole. White leather sets the stage, with blue lining and cheeky orange piping playing off the New York palette. Down below, a 'Sail' sole adds vintage bite, while a flash of blue across the heel ties the whole package together.

For anyone wondering where the 2/3 even came from, here’s the backstory. Jordan Brand quietly introduced the silhouette in 2023, blending back-to-back icons into one package. The AJ2 was the first to ditch the Swoosh and flirt with Italian luxury, while the AJ3 ushered in era with elephant print and visible Air. The hybrid idea was to stitch those milestones together, giving sneakerheads a taste of both worlds. But while the concept makes sense on paper, the execution hasn’t exactly set the sneakerverse ablaze. Four colourways have dropped so far in 2025, most of them landing with a thud and sliding under retail.

The sense of irony won’t be lost on Knicks fans. spent his career breaking New York’s heart, yet here’s a hybrid Jumpman decked out in orange and blue. For old-school Knicks fans – the ones who once swore by Ewings instead of Jumpmans – this pair would’ve been a sassy truce offering.
