Update March 29, 2022: The Air Jordan 1 High '85 'Georgetown' has been slowly releasing around the globe. Finally, the Stateside release is happening, and a slew of retailers are stocked and ready. April 2 is looking like the date to watch, so head down below for our Where to Buy guide.

The lead up to the release of the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 ‘Georgetown’ has been long! We first caught wind of the Hoyas-themed AJ1 back in July of 2021 when imagery first surfaced. The sneakersphere was in awe because we’re basically getting a recreation of the mythical ‘Georgetown Hoyas’ PE from 1985. Even better, it uses the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 silhouette which has been marketed as the most accurate recreation of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe. Although having been already confirmed via official imagery and released at some locations in Asia, the ‘Georgetown’ has been a hard shoe to track down with release dates changing on a regular basis. Finally though after the region-specific Asia release, we have concrete details.

To those with a keen eye you’ll be able to notice the difference between the regular AJ1 and the Hi ’85, which rocks a higher and flatter collar when compared to the standard version. There’s also a smaller Wings logo, crafted with premium-grade leather, boasts a digitally-recreated OG midsole and arrives with the same hangtag as the pairs that released back in 1985. The ‘Georgetown’ colourway rocks a classic two-tone look that resembles that of the Georgetown Hoyas basketball team. Adding the finishing touch is the yellowed tongue that exudes vintage vibes.

The Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 Georgetown’ has been loaded onto SNKRS Australia and will release there on March 3, a US release date is still expected to be sometime in April. We’ll keep you updated.
