A Closer Look at the Specially-Swooshed Air Jordan 1 'Chenille'

Update January 17, 2022: It's looking like a February drop for the women's-sized Air Jordan 1 'Chenille' won't be happening as more sneaker industry insiders hint at an April release. Jordan Brand have mastered the art of giving their fans just enough information – when they announce their seasonal collections, they always leave a few special pairs out so they can build a buzz all their own. One of those pairs for spring 2022 is the Air Jordan 1 'Chenille', a women's-sized take on Michael Jordan's first signature sneaker that's centred around its special Swoosh.
As you might have guessed from this Air Jordan 1's nom de guerre, its special Swoosh is made from fuzzy chenille fabric that provides a varsity jacket-esque dash of style. Chenille is a tried-and-true material for ladies' Air Jordan 1s, as back in 2017 served up a chenille Swoosh of its own. Besides the special Swoosh, the 'Chenille' features a classic white and 'Varsity Red' colour scheme with an artful hit of 'Iron Ore' on its collar for contrast plus a corduroy tongue.
There's currently some uncertainty around the Air Jordan 1 'Chenille' release, as it was originally rumoured to be a Valentine's Day drop alongside a – but recent rumblings have indicated it may be pushed back to April.
