Aimé Leon Dore Spins a Fresh 991 for Fall/Winter 2025

Aimé Leon Dore new balance 991 sneakers

might be toes-deep in s ‘Made In USA’ program, but that hasn’t stopped him from jetting across the pond to stir the UK pot. Unveiled in Fall/Winter 2025 lookbook, the next chapter in the x New Balance saga revives the classic in a brand-new colourway.

This time, the silhouette shows up dressed in off-white mesh, red leather underlays, and shaggy brown suede overlays – a palette that feels straight out of the prairie but polished enough for Mulberry Street.

What makes this drop extra spicy is the fact that New Balance officially pivoted to the 991v2 in late 2023. The return to the OG 991 shape – with its slightly steeper heel-to-toe slope – signals Santis isn’t done mining the archives just yet.

For some perspective, the 991 has been holding it down for more than two decades. First released in 2001, it carved out its own lane as the first NB model of the new millennium and the successor to the cult-loved 990 series. Built with ABZORB cushioning and a sharper profile, it pushed NB’s reputation for premium performance while staying firmly rooted in Flimby’s Made in UK craftsmanship.

No release date or raffle word yet, but expect the usual ALD treatment: scarce pairs and clean packaging. For now, all we’ve got are lookbook teasers.
