Two More Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550s Are On the Way
Teddy Santis and his Aimé Leon Dore label are credited as the minds behind the New Balance 550 resurrection. It’s said that Santis himself noticed the model and immediately wanted to bring it back, and following hours of hunting, he was able to track down an OG pair and revived the NB550 with its OG specs. Since the original collaborative comeback in 2020, the 1980s basketball model has gone on to be a staple for New Balance, donning the feet of many across the globe.
While becoming an option for the everyday sneaker wearer, ALD have made a point to continue and produce limited collaborative 550s, and the latest have just arrived. Doing away with the usual all-leather construction, ALD have opted for a mostly-suede construction in a duo of tonal brown hues. Interestingly, the underlay on each pair features a canvas-like fabric. Rounding out each is the cream midsole and specialised ALD tongue branding.
An exact release date hasn’t been locked in as of yet, but both new Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 colourways have been loaded onto the brand’s site and are ‘coming soon’.
