Step Inside Aimé Leon Dore's New London Flagship
Between throwing the doors of their London flagship open for the first time and re-dropping their 991 colab with New Balance, it's been an eventful week for Aimé Leon Dore. Now that the London store is up and running in full, we've been given a detailed look inside its luxurious expanses.
Crafted under the watchful eye of Sarita Posada, a Colombia-born, Portland-raised and New York-based designer who specializes in furniture and hotel interiors, ALD's London location is a two-story monument to the influential, vintage-tinged taste and Greek heritage of brand founder Teddy Santis. Its central design features include dark walnut panelling, floors made of Greek Cipollino marble and covered with antique Persian rugs and custom furniture with leather and brass ornamentation.
Two of the store's standout sections are its lounge room and Café Leon Dore. The lounge room (which is private) boasts an extensive vinyl collection, a DJ setup and a bar, all surrounded by fabric panelling, while Café Leon Dore, open to the public is all marble, walnut wood and brass, and serves a Greek-inspired menu with favourites from ALD's New York store like Freddo espresso and cappuccino as well as new, London-only menu items.
If you want to see the store for yourself, it's located in the heart of London's Soho district at 32 Broadwick Street. Operating hours run from 11 am to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, and from 12 PM to 6 PM on Sundays.
