When Kanye West and adidas debuted the Yeezy 700 V3 in 2020, it was a step in a bold new direction for the 700 line. Both the Yeezy BOOST 700 and Yeezy BOOST 700 V2 were big, bold, blocky and bursting at the gills with bouncy BOOST cushioning, but the 700 V3 discarded BOOST in favour of a simple EVA setup – and also slimmed down its look considerably. Since then, other silhouettes like the Yeezy 450 have continued pushing the Yeezy line in an innovative new direction, but the 700 V3 still holds significant prestige and now its 'Safflower' colourway is set to return in 2022.
Among the first batch of Yeezy 700 V3 colourways to release in 2020, the 'Safflower' was arguably the most vibrant, thanks to the yellow streaks on its white, black and grey upper. This assemblage is held together by a milky white 'exoskeleton' on both the lateral and medial sides of the midfoot, while the sharply-shaped EVA midsole down below rounds off the look.
The 'Safflower' is set to return sometime in March. An exact date has yet to be nailed down, but will likely be announced soon. Just like its last release, it'll be priced at an even $200.
