2015 has proven a stellar year for 'the brand with the three stripes'. The and lines have delivered some of the most fiendishly sought after sneakers of the year (and with the good reason!). Choosing to cap off the year with a bang, invited sneaker bloggers, influencers and collaborators from the four corners of the globe (including the newest member of team adi, to descend upon the birthplace of sneaker culture, New York City, to launch the latest addition to the family – the .
The NMD Runner pairs fashion-forward design with the latest in performance tech (think without the exxy price tag!) but is rich in heritage, inspired by some of the most cutting edge retro runners of yesteryear. With these roots in mind, adidas ventured into their archives to dig out the OG runners that inspired this fresh silhouette for another turn in the spotlight. Vintage Rising Stars, Boston Supers and Micropacers took pride of place in the centre of Lexington Armoury, much to our delight! Up on stage a legion of disembodied feet paraded the new silhouette beneath an ungodly huge display of seemingly random visual imagery (yo adidas, feel free to send one of those screens our way!).
The NMD Runner is hitting stores globally on December 12th, with Consortium accounts dropping a limited reflective make-up early on December 10th. The NMD Runner is an appetising new addition to the Three Stripes family but something tells us that this is only the tip of the iceberg for NMD. Big things are coming, our sneaker-sense is tingling!
