adidas and Skechers Finally Settle Their Legal Issues

The long-running legal dispute between and appears to be over. For the moment anyway.

The two footwear giants have been locked in the IP battle since 2015, when the Three Stripes alleged that Skechers unlawfully used their trademarks and outright copied the Stan Smith design.

After an initial judgement in 2016, it was ruled that Skechers were to remove two IP-infringing styles from the market, citing the global recognition of the Three Stripes brand.

Recent developments, however, saw Skechers attempt to flout the sanctions and bring another faux Stan Smith to market. It all ended in a fizzle rather than a bang though, as the dispute was settled confidentially out of court.
