The adidas adiFOM Q generated quite the controversy when it was first revealed in June. Bearing a striking resemblance to the Yeezy Foam Runner, the adiFOM Q was reportedly inspired by 2001’s long-forgotten adidas Quake.

Tensions were already at boiling point between Kanye West and adidas this year, with Ye calling-out adi for their previous Adilette 22 slide sandals: ‘Fake Yeezy made by adidas themselves’, Ye wrote.

adidas didn’t seem too concerned by Kanye West’s provocations, the social media team even sharing a video on TikTok preempting the backlash.

Still, as they say in the industry: No publicity is bad publicity. adidas continue to produce new colourways of the futuristic adiFOM Q, the latest black and orange leak suggesting a broadening of the palette (previous renditions conformed to a classic composition of white and grey).

In terms of construction, the adiFOM Q features sculpted exteriors made with lightweight EVA. The removable interior bootie is built with adi’s signature Primeknit material. Tongues are marked with adi’s iconic Trefoil logos.

Look for the adidas adiFOM Q to launch later this year.

In the meantime, make sure to get a closer look at the crisp white colourway.
