UFC Fighter Max Holloway Teases a Knock-Out 'Night Maroon' ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low
Former UFC featherweight champion Max 'Blessed' Holloway won a thrilling five-round bout with Yair 'El Pantera' Rodríguez this past Saturday, but what was even more exciting than his gutsy performance were the shoes he wore into the arena before his fight: a never-before-seen colourway of the ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low.
Dubbed 'Night Maroon', the style is ACRONYM and Nike's second go-around with a low-cut Blazer after a black, white and yellow colourway was revealed at the top of October. The 'Night Maroon' is decidedly more colourful than its counterpart, as its eponymously-toned upper is embellished with everything from 'Lemon Venom' to infrared, baby blue and black. There's 'ripped' detailing on the forefoot and midfoot, plus a cage on the heel that doesn't seem to serve any functional purpose but is somewhat reminiscent of Nike Flyease technology.
Holloway is an avid fan of ACRONYM and a friend of its founder Errolson Hugh. In the past, he's tweeted his appreciation for Hugh and posted photos of himself in the ACRONYM x Nike Presto – so it's not surprising that Hugh made sure he had some fresh kicks for his big fight!
At the time of writing, a release date for the ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low 'Night Maroon' has yet to be revealed. Rumours have it hitting retailers by the end of the year, but nothing has been confirmed by ACRONYM or Nike.
