PRESS RELEASE

Australian contemporary lifestyle title, ACCLAIM is proud to release their FRIENDS issue this August. The issue uncovers the friendships at the core of everything from art collectives to skate crews, business partners to frat houses, a man’s relationship with his automobile and a store owner’s relationship with their dog. ACCLAIM gets to the bottom of what makes the partnerships tick and what the spirit of collaboration and working with others brings to contemporary creative culture. Issue 21 is kicked off with a series of popping covers, shot by Brooklyn photographer Ellen Stagg. Notorious for her erotic photography featuring women from the adult industry, many of whom are close friends, Ellen has flipped the script on the photographer vs. subject dynamic and created a provocative niche for herself and work in the process. We had Ellen shoot real life best friends and Penthouse Pets, Ryan Keely And Justine Joli, for the issue.

The main cover in red with the girls hanging out with some popsicles, will be available through our usual newsstand outlets, the alternative covers in a cheeky shade of yellow will be available exclusively through our boutique stockists and launch parties across the globe.
Ellen and the girls are also featured in an 8-page layout inside, with an interview with Ellen Stagg about her practice. A Q&A with Ryan and Justine is also featured with them breaking down what life in the industry is really like.
-Interview between art icons Gary Panter and Todd James
-Interview with Greg Selkoe, founder of retail giant Karmaloop.com
-An ichat between Stones Throw art director Jeff Jank and comic artist Benjamin Marra
-Miami designers and toy creators, Friends With You
-British store Coggles reimagines the Varsity look seen in iconic style bible Take Ivy for our fashion shoot, with exclusive spreads from the book
-Interviews with indie darling Theophilus London and French beat master Onra.
-And much more…
