A Purple sacai x Nike VaporWaffle Surfaces
It always seems that whenever and join forces, everything they touch turns to gold. 2019 saw their insanely popular LDWaffles and reworks of the Blazers, which literally stopped the sneakersphere and had everyone in a frenzy trying to cop. Last year, the duo followed up with another out-there release dubbed the VaporWaffle which, once again, sold out within seconds. Now, it looks like there’s more of them on the way, because we’ve just received some cheeky pre-release pics of an ultra-clean purple colourway.
Coming in via hanzuying, the first thing that catches our eye is the different construction that this purple VaporWaffle has compared to the two that hit shelves last year. The previously released pairs boasted a mesh base with suede and leather overlays, while this new joint rocks an almost-nylon or synthetic base. A full-purple look has been cascaded over the whole silhouette, making the suede look extra velvety. Leather wraps around the heel, and the orange Swooshes on either side. For a signature flourish, sacai have injected this iteration with the classic doubled-up look, decking it out with two tongues, dual Swooshes, double laces, and a stacked sole unit.
So far, absolutely no details have surfaced about this latest sacai x Nike VaporWaffle, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything.
