Marked on the calendar with a fat red ‘X’ by the sneaker savvy, All Star Weekend is one of the biggest events in the sneaker year. With showmanship at its core, the festival serves as a stage for the best ball players in the league to showcase their skill-set without stressing seedings or averages.

Brands embrace the friendly competitive spirit with vigour, and the weekend’s corresponding sneaker drops are always memorable. Rounding down the releases to single out your first draft picks can be tricky, though – so we’ve gone and done it for you. Be it retro Jays, outrageously premium AF-1s or Chuck Taylors cheekily stoking the East vs West rivalry – you’ll find them all right here.

Jordan Brand’s panther-inspired silhouette is back with a full OG treatment in 2017. Joining the already-revealed ‘Bred‘ make-up, the ‘Chicago’ AJ13 has also been confirmed for retro duties. There are no tweaks or alterations this time around, just a straight recreation of the classic late-90s colourway – exactly what we want from a Jordan retro. Coming in all sizes, this is a release the whole family can wear to the game.  Available from Foot Locker on February 18.

The latest pack from Nike beckons us to jump in the time machine and revisit each of the past five decades of basketball through silhouettes emblematic of their respective eras. This ‘5 Decades’ Air Foamposite Pro boasts vachetta tan and is sure to conjure up some fond memories for all the 90s kids out there.  Available from Nike online on February 18.

The Uptown has gone down low! Weight is saved on this ‘Black/White’ AF-1 via the use of Flyknit construction and a featherlight Ultra sole. And – like every devastating crossover you’ll see this weekend – it’s been sliced right by the ankle.  Available from Nike online on February 17.

Converse are serving up a modern remix of a classic in the form of this Chuck Taylor Modern Lux Collection. The latest take on the  All Star is a triumph of synthesis, infusing the heritage silhouette’s form with technological innovations like microsuede lining, taped seams and a full-length Phylon midsole.  Available from Converse online on February 18.

Another entry from Nike’s ‘5 Decades’ pack, this Air Force 1 is an exercise in 80s luxe. With vachetta tan leather uppers, 24K gold-plated strap adornments, Native American-styled tassels and side pouch – this one is going to be a must-have for collectors.  Available from Nike online on February 18.
