A Decade of Innovation: STUDIO HAGEL Marks 10 Years in the Game

This past weekend, Amsterdam’s PARK became the stage for s 10-year anniversary, with the studio hosting the three-day HAGEL10Y event. What started as founder Mathieu Hagelaars’ solo venture has grown into a globally recognised design studio, which has seen colabs with names like , and .

Coinciding with Amsterdam opening weekend, HAGEL10Y featured workshops with ASICS and , a Veja community run, a skate jam, and a sprawling exhibition across PARK’s 1000 m² skatepark. The weekend culminated on Saturday night with a sold-out celebration at Skatecafé, bringing together designers, sneakerheads and community members, all under one roof.

At the centre of the event was the first public presentation of the studio’s weekly design explorations that have become a signature of HAGEL’s creative approach. The exhibition also highlighted commissioned projects and colabs with names including and Murakami, showcasing both the studio’s past achievements and its ongoing pursuit of experimentation.

Opening the exhibition, Hagelaars reflected: 'Welcome to a Decade of Sneaker Innovation… This exhibition is our chance to look back with pride at this incredible 10-year journey and share our excitement for what’s still to come.'
