Back in October last year we shared a leak of a Nike collaboration with Japanese brand READYMADE on the Blazer Mid, and it caused quite the stir because of the curious distorted build. After a few months of silence from the duo regarding the colab, a pre-release look has been provided and it’s the best glance we’ve had since the news first emerged!

READYMADE is a Japanese streetwear brand headed up by designer Yuta Hosokawa, recently making some serious noise within the fashion world thanks to their abnormally beautiful approach to design. And this Nike Blazer Mid rework is a shining example of that wayward aesthetic.

Diving into the details of the shoe that’s destined to turn heads, we’ve got an upper constructed of a black fabric that cascades over the camouflage foam-like base. The real eye-popper is the distorted Swoosh, which has been made thinner and longer. Blending in perfectly is the sole unit which looks to be purposely disfigured along with toe cap. A bungee cord has been placed above the already dual lace system. Elsewhere, READYMADE have made their mark with their logo on the heel and specialised co-branded tongue labels.

Update: According to notorious sneaker sleuth py_rates_, the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid has been rumoured to release on February 1 at select Swoosh stockists. Well let you know when official word from the top comes through about this release.
