The Nike Sabrina 1 ‘Ionic’ Will Now Debut in September

Update July 7, 2023: An official release date is set for the Nike Sabrina 1 ‘Ionic’. The long-awaited sneaker is set to drop on August 3, via Nike's channels and at select retailers for $125.
New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu must be excited to get the season started with the addition of two former MVPs in Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones to the team, making them instant title contenders. Now with the unveiling of her first signature sneaker, the Nike Sabrina 1, Ionescu joins as the second woman to get a signature sneaker on the current Basketball roster.
The Nike Sabrina 1 is built for Ionescu and players who use their quickness and acceleration to their advantage. The low-cut sneaker uses a multi-layered mesh upper with detailed embroidery patterns on the forefoot and eyestay, inspired by Romanian art and architecture. Translucent mesh quarter panels bring ventilation with the Flywire cables providing lockdown.
The Swoosh is outlined on the lateral side with the medial Swoosh seen in a vertically angled form with Ionescu’s new S logo appearing on the tongue. An ‘i’ is slyly placed on the heel that transitions into the midsole.
Going down into the midsole, full-length React cushioning is used with a Zoom Air until in the forefoot for responsiveness and a plush ride. A shank plate is placed in the midfoot to bring stability and rigidity to the sneaker with the outsole featuring multidirectional patterns for traction on the court.
The Nike Sabrina 1 is scheduled to release sometime in Summer 2023 for $125. In addition to general release colourways, the Nike Sabrina 1 will also be available for customisation on Nike By You.
