Casio has officially announced the release of its long awaited youth culture G-Shock pack, featuring watches designed by tattoo legend Mr Cartoon, skater and photographer Todd Jordan and rapperman Redman. The trio were chosen for the way that their own work mirrors G-Shock’s renowned unconventional style and indestructible toughness. Visit Casio for a full rundown of all the technical specs.
“G-Shock is tough and durable, but still raw to the core. I wanted a model that I could wear on my wrist with confidence… To me, the color red represents taking it to the maximum, just like when I hit the stage. I give my fans my all at live shows—stage dives, all the hits, and the best performance they’ve seen.” – Redman
“I chose to collaborate with G-Shock because I have been wearing G-Shocks since I went to Japan in the early nineties. I have seen the evolution and the quality of the watch evolve into an iconic brand. It never goes out of style, I like the way that G-Shock is interested in connecting technology, culture and art.” – Mr. Cartoon.
“The DW5600 was the first G-Shock model that I owned. I remember that watch well. It still has a sentimental value to me, so it’s really nice to be able to make my own 5600… I just wanted the DW5600TOD-6 to look simple. I’m simple and I like black. It’s kind of homage to the legendary skater Harold Hunter.” – Todd Jordan
