World-renowned magazine, book producer, digital publisher and creative agency is on the hunt for a graphic designer to join our kick-ass team at Sneaker Freaker!

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have excellent design skills and be savvy across digital mediums. They will work closely with our editorial, creative and social teams to supply strategic solutions for branded and editorial content, and work on key projects that push the boundaries of print.

You will need to have a firm opinion and the ability to back it up by expressing yourself clearly across different mediums. Magazine experience is awesome but not essential.

An aficionado understanding of sneakers and streetwear is not a foundation of this job, but brings in bonus points. You must, however, keep up with trends and have a knowledge of what’s popping across design and culture.

This is definitely a full-time gig for a seasoned pro who values print and digital, and is ready to take on a full-time role in a creative space!

ROLE
– Create visually compelling packaging, catalogues, website material and other marketing collateral
– Collaborate closely with the team to conceptualise campaigns and brand assets
– Prepare print-ready files and liaise with suppliers to ensure high-quality outputs
– Product photography editing, mock-ups, and promotional material
– Provide timely updates using project management platforms

IDEAL CANDIDATE
– At least 5 years experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio
– Black-belt proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc
– An eye for detail, typography and layout, with the ability to transform complex information into visually striking designs
– Strong communication and collaboration skills
– Passion for staying up to date with the latest design trends and techniques
– Experience with digital asset creation (motion experience is a huge plus)
– Highly organised and able to manage multiple briefs and projects
– Ability to work closely with a team and also operate independently
– Work well under pressure and hit daily deadlines

Editor

Sneaker Freaker is a world-renowned magazine, book producer, digital publisher and agency that is on the hunt for an Editor to work with a team of storytellers and creatives.

With a prominent voice in the footwear industry, Sneaker Freaker is blessed with a strong digital game, a passion for print, fiery imaginations geared for creative campaign ideation, and an ability to polish and package all of this with sharp copy and high-end visuals.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised and detail-oriented, have excellent writing skills, and be savvy across digital mediums. They will work closely with our editorial, creative and social teams to supply strategic solutions for branded and editorial content. Managing content schedules, developing best publishing practices and writing short- and long-form content will be required.

An appreciation of sneakers and streetwear is a foundation of this job, along with some knowledge of pop culture. Travel to events, fashion weeks and for ad-hoc research trips are important elements of this role. As the candidate will be working remotely, the ability to work independently is key.

ROLE
– Produce engaging short-form posts, long-form features and social captions
– Manage content schedules with editorial and social teams
– Work closely with the managing editor to build and manage content calendar and strategy
– Work with the managing editor to optimise content practices and processes
– Ideate, source news and produce daily content
– Edit content when required to a high standard

IDEAL CANDIDATE
– 5+ years experience as a journalist or content producer
– The ability to write, publish and edit content which leans into deeper
storytelling
– Strong eye for detail and the instincts for a great story
– Knowledge of digital publishing systems and social media
– Strong communication and research skills
– Highly organised and able to manage multiple briefs and projects
– Ability to work closely with a team and also operate independently
– Solid understanding of sneakers and street culture
– Ability to work well under pressure and hit daily deadlines
