Jeff Staple’s Fifty Favourite Sneakers.
Sneaker lists, as subjective as they are, can often be a great springboard for discussion. Our good friends over at Complex magazine, who feature more lists than David Letterman, recently spoke with Jeff Staple about his fifty favorite kicks.
Staple, a selfmade tour de force of cultural influence, has consulted and designed for giants like Nike and Apple, while his footwear collaborations are consistently anticipated releases, often spreading through the blog-o-sphere like wild fire. An avid collector, his top fifty is more gospel than gimmick and while it’s centered around his faves, rather than the most important or significant releases, it’s a fascinating list of rare and obvious sneaker staples – no pun intended. Included in this fifty are various Air Jordans, his own Nike x LVMH Air Force 1 Celux and selected classics like the Converse Jack Purcell. No Staple list of faves would be complete without his collaborations, including the shoe that made him famous, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Pigeon. Elevating the rankings are inclusions from Clae, Reebok’s Pump range, New Balance, adidas and even Brooks.
Interestingly, Jeff Staple even rates Terra Plana’s barefoot inspired footwear. You can check out all of Jeff Staples fifty faves here.
