The Most Expensive Air Jordan 4s Ever
The Air Jordan 4 is a favourite model amongst many sneakerheads, meaning every year we see it touch down in a slew of spicy colourways that get snapped up very quick. Arguably one of the greatest sneakers of all time, the AJ4’s top tier status comes with exorbitant after-market price tags and large scale colabs. Here are the most expensive Air Jordan 4s to ever release.
Mark Wahlberg x Air Jordan 4 ‘Wahlburgers’
If you own the Air Jordan 4 ‘Wahlburgers’ you probably already know this pair goes for upwards of $100,000. That’s right, there’s five zeros there! The grand opening of Mark Wahlberg’s Wahlburgers restaurant in the Mall of America in Minnesota saw the actor bust out a pair of AJ4s to commemorate the occasion. In 2018, he released a pair via raffle alongside the Entertainment Industry Foundation, with the proceeds going to those affected by the California wildfires. There are only 30 pairs in existence, so it’s understandable why these go for so much.
Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4
This is the real three-way that sneakerheads dream about! The Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 has all-time unicorn status, with only a select few individuals ever seeing pairs in the flesh. They originally landed in 2015, with only a select few made for friends and family of Slim Shady. Following the F&F gifting, 10 additional pairs were auctioned off on eBay, with some fetching around $20,000! Nowadays, you’ll only find high five-figure asking prices on the secondary market.
UNDEFEATED x Air Jordan 4
Back in 2005, UNDEFEATED became the first boutique sneaker retailer to receive a collaboration with Jordan Brand. Choosing the AJ4 silhouette, they only created 72 pairs and sold most of them via an intricate in-store raffle, before the remainder hit an online auction. There were also many pairs that were gifted to friends and family of the retailer. Considering how coveted this shoe is, it’s no surprise these sell for upwards of $50,000.
F&F Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4
Over the past few years, Travis Scott has created some of the most expensive collaborative creps. This pair hit in 2019, and was gifted to close affiliates of the rapper following the release of his collaborative ‘Cactus Jack’ AJ4. With his linkups now regularly seeing resale values in four figures, and considering the scarcity of this particular design, it’s unsurprising this purple F&F Air Jordan 4 reaches upwards of $30,000 these days.
OVO x Air Jordan 4 ‘Splatter’
The Air Jordan 4 ‘Splatter’ was a forgotten colourway concept from 1989 that was brought back into the conversation by Drake in 2017 when he flexed the OVO x Air Jordan 4 ‘Splatter’. This collaborative pair also never saw a release. Drake’s own size 11 sample pair has since been floating around, and surfaced again in a Sotheby’s auction in 2020. The sneaker ended up selling for a whopping $32,760.
