Style Recap: Sneaker Takeaways from PFW Women's FW19
Milan Fashion Week held polar opposites, with Gucci and GCDS creating kicks with extraordinary amounts of chunk, while Roberto Cavalli and Sportmax displayed slimmer silhouettes.
In contrast, the recent Paris Fashion Week definitely brought the heat, with big flexes and new models being debuted. We had Off-White showcasing some new kicks, Paris' fashion crowd hitting the street in Sacai, and major fashion statements being made. Paris really turned it up a notch.
Off-White Are Still Kickin'
It seems as though Virgil can't stay away from sneakers. Cutting ties with Nike, he now has put some major effort into pushing out more models under his Off-White label. With two new colourways of his Joggers surfacing, he hit the runway with a new low-top silhouette.
We'll keep you updated if anything more surfaces about these bad boys.
Hittin' the street in sacai
It seems as though everyone is talking about the sacai x Nike colab, with all the hype that's going on, and the unexpected delays, you already know that Fashion Week is the perfect time to flex your early pairs. And that's exactly what Paris' fashion elite did, hitting the street and strutting in-between shows in the unreleased Blazers.
Statement Kicks Ruled the Streets
Statement kicks have always been part of the fashion culture, and loud silhouettes with crazy combinations were littered up and down the Paris streets throughout the whole week. The Comme des Garçons x Nike Cortez made a major splash at Fashion Week, with the very tall silhouette seen on the feet of many attendees.
High-fashion has definitely taken over the sneakersphere, there's no arguing with that. Thanks to the relationship between sneakerheads and fashion moguls being stronger than ever before, designers have been able to absolutely flip sneakers on their head. And there was definitely no shortage of it at fashion week, whether they were DIYs or sneakers that looked like art pieces, they were all out in full force.
