For whatever reason, I think the industry itself is not really creating this type of product right now. Where’s the heat gone?
But the industry never created anything, it’s the people that created it and it’s the people that create the energy.
When I say industry I don’t mean just the big corporations, I mean all of us.
I’m just playing off your wording. It’s the people that make the choices, we’re the ones that hype each other up, we’re the ones. Look at how it rolls out, look at the arc, look at how all these people – you know what I mean – it was an incredible movement. But it is stagnating, it’s not as fluid, that’s for sure.
It’s not often I’ve done interviews this honest. I’m surprised.
I’m just saying what I feel and you’ll never hear me talk about all the shit, because I’m not that dude. You talk to me, I like you and I really do like your publication. You see how I’m living, right? I just like a little bit of work. That being said, there’s so much shit that I’ve gone through that people have just all wrong. They have no clue because I’m not out there blogging about it. When you need people to come to their own conclusion, seven times out of 10 they get it wrong.
That’s human nature, unfortunately.
It is. I think it’s all ego and hype. Who else are you interviewing out here?
Funnily enough I’m off to see Dave Ortiz now. In a way he has a similar story to you.
I really like Dave, and I’ve always bigged Dave up, even when he’s throwing kooks and whatever. Let’s say we had our issues but we patched things up.
Well Dave’s a likeable guy…
He’s a nice dude, but he’s his own worst enemy, like a bunch of us. Sometimes we need to pull back the reins a little bit. Whatever…
